Hello Chippewa! My name is Avery Hendrick, I am a proud lifelong community member of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. It is with great excitement and vigor I join the Employment and Training team, as the Admin Assistant Trainee. I hope to give back and uplift the community which has always been there to support me.
My passions are with the arts and philosophy, and it is through these lenses that I approach much of my life and work. I believe it is imperative that we take on any task with fresh eyes and a willingness to change our perspectives, and it is with this approach that I have come to develop many of the life/work skills I possess today.
Creation is at the heart of our people, and I believe it is the act of creating and recreating one’s self which helps foster a positive sense of selfhood and community. I hope through this position as the Administrative Assistant Trainee for Employment and Training that I can help instill and integrate some of these core philosophies.
